City of Knox to Hold One of the First Events of 2018 Later this Month

There are a plethora of events planned in Knox for 2018 and the city is scheduled to kick off their string of celebrations with a charitable music show later this month.

On Friday, March 23rd, local music lovers are invited to attend the Bluegrass Jam at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

The admission for the show will be non-perishable food donations for the Starke County Food Pantry. The event description says that all musicians are welcome but country music, gospel and bluegrass will be featured.

Other events listed for later this year include a Big Band Dance at the Community Center in April and Prayer Breakfast there on May 3rd. The citywide yard sales that will be held May 10th through May 12th are also listed.

Some summer events that citizens can look forward to include the Car and Bike Show/ Cruise Night in May, the Port-a-Pit Chicken sales in June, the Family Fun Day and Fireworks Display in July as well as the various concerts in the park which will be held intermittently.

As previously reported, the movies in the park will return this year. They will be held every other Wednesday beginning on May 30th.

The Knox Events Planning Committee and Mayor Dennis Estok are always looking for volunteers to help out with these events or individuals and businesses willing to sponsor a concert or movie. For more information visit the City of Knox website or call the Mayor’s Office at 574-772-4553.
