One Arrested in Stabbing Incident in Pulaski County

One man was arrested in an alleged stabbing incident that occurred at a Winamac home on Sunday evening.

According to Pulaski County Sheriff Jeff Richwine, Robert Rowe reportedly stabbed the male victim while the victim was laying down in a bedroom at a home in the 2500 block of N. 175 E. The pair was allegedly arguing prior to the incident. Police say the victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife and sustained lacerations to his chest and left side. He was taken to the hospital and later airlifted to another facility. The depth of the cuts is not known.

Sheriff Richwine added that the action was witnessed by two small children.

In a consented search of the home, police reportedly found a marijuana grinder, a blue smoking device and the weapon used in the incident. A white powdery substance was also allegedly found on a plate inside a drawer, but it couldn’t be identified in initial testing. It has been submitted to the Indiana State Police Crime Lab for testing.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s deputies took 52-year-old Robert Rowe of Rensselaer into custody. He faces preliminary felony charges of battery by means of a deadly weapon and intimidation.

The Winamac Police Department assisted at the scene.

More charges are being sought in this case. It remains under investigation with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.
