Francesville Town Council Looks to Revamp Town Plan Commission

The Francesville Town Council members will soon be considering an ordinance that would establish a plan commission in Francesville.

According to Clerk-Treasurer Linda Bennett, Pulaski County Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer and Attorney Justin Schramm advised the town council Monday night that a local plan commission can make a decision concerning zoning restrictions regarding wind turbines. The town could pattern zoning ordinances after the county’s laws, but Bennett said the town council felt a customized ordinance would better fit the town.

There was the thought that a plan commission had already been in place in Francesville, but there is no paperwork to support that.

Schramm will draft an ordinance to establish a plan commission for the town council’s consideration in a meeting later in the month.

Bennett added that several residents were in attendance Monday night to voice concerns over the placement of wind turbines in the county.
