A 12-member jury returned verdicts on Friday in the case of Roland “Tiger” Minix in Starke Circuit Court.
The jury found Minix not guilty on a count of criminal confinement as a Level 3 felony and not guilty of an additional count of criminal confinement as a Level 5 felony.
The jury began deliberations around 5:30 p.m. on Friday and rendered verdicts at about 7:30 p.m. CT.
The trial began Wednesday morning and with the selection of a jury. A jury was eventually seated on Thursday. Testimony started shortly after opening statements on Thursday. The State called five witnesses to testify with the Defense calling the same number of witnesses. The Defendant provided his own testimony during the hearing.
