The Knox Board of Works will meet today to discuss several code enforcement issues and get an update on blighted structures.
The board will hear from Melvin Zeiters who was recently cited for having several code enforcement violations on several of his properties. During the board’s April meeting, Building Administrator Kenny Pfost said he sent notices of ordinance violations including public nuisance and no improvements have been made. Several vehicles on these properties are considered to be junk vehicles by definition of the ordinance, according to Pfost.
Code enforcement will also be discussed on two properties on South Heaton Street.
The Knox Board of Works members are expected to open bids for the 50/50 sidewalk program and updates will be given on progress on remodeling projects at 6 N. Pearl Street and 1 and 3 N. Main Street.
The street, water and wastewater superintendents are expected to give monthly reports as well as Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith.
The board will meet at 9:30 a.m. at Knox City Hall.
