West Central School Board Updated on Summer Construction Projects

A secure entrance and utilization of space project is ongoing at the West Central School Corporation.

Superintendent Don Street updated the school board on the progress of the projects last week.

“The fence project and the elementary parking lot paving project are complete,” said Street. “We are replacing the original outdoor lighting with LED lights. That is almost complete throughout the exterior of our building. The secure entrance and utilization of space project is progressing and the FFA continues to work on their greenhouse. They’re making a lot of progress.”

The school board members approved plans last year to make a more secure entrance at the school to increase school safety.

A few other projects planned for this summer include the replacement of the heating and cooling units for the high school cafeteria and high school band room area as well as the renovation of the north lobby restrooms. All work is anticipated to be done by the start of school in August.
