Pulaski Council to Consider Written Salary Guidelines, Funding for Courthouse Elevator Replacement

A set of written guidelines on Pulaski County’s pay structure are expected to be approved during tonight’s county council meeting. An 11-page draft document was presented to council members last month, and department heads were given a chance to offer input. The guidelines are designed to clarify a number of issues, including the pay rate for part-time employees and the process of amending the pay structure going forward.

Council members are also expected to finalize three additional appropriations requests, to help pay for the replacement of the courthouse elevator, provide a local match for improvements to Arens Field, and pay staff in the Clerk’s Office. Meanwhile, Health Department Office Manager Terri Hansen, Maintenance Supervisor Jeff Johnston, Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer, and Sheriff Jeff Richwine are also on tonight’s meeting agenda.

Tonight’s Pulaski County Council meeting starts at 7:00 EDT at the Pulaski County Highway Garage, following the council’s joint session with the county commissioners at 6:00. During the joint meeting, Coroner John Behny is scheduled to continue discussing a potential office, while Greg Hilderbrandt will discuss the speed limit on County Road 250 North.

Before that, the county commissioners will meet in special session at 5:30 p.m., to schedule a deed sale for August 1.
