Culver Town Council Approves Culver Lake Fest Permit Request

The Culver Town Council members considered the event permit request for the 35th Annual Culver Lake Fest.

Lake Fest Committee President Trent Bennett presented the plans and activities for the annual event for the weekend of July 20, 21 and 22. He noted that the car show will move from the parking lot at the Culver Beach Lodge to Lake Shore Drive. All of the stage events will now be at the Damore Amphitheater including the Miss Max pageant, musical entertainment and the church service.

Bennett said there was discussion surrounding the movement of the parade route as the sidewalk sales will be taking place in the downtown area along the route. There was concern that there wouldn’t be room for people to shop. The sidewalk sales are usually on a different weekend but it was moved to the same weekend as the Culver Lake Fest. After discussion, the parade route will continue to be formed along Slate Street with the procession down Main Street to Lake Shore Drive to College Avenue. This year’s Parade Marshals are Mike and Connie Overmyer.

The council members unanimously approved the event permit as presented. More details will be provided in future newscasts.
