The start of the school year is right around the corner and Linda Lewandowski from the Kid’s Closet Ministry is looking for volunteers to help get kids in need get the supplies they need prior to the start of the school year.
Lewandowski gave an update to the Starke County Council members on Monday night. The organization serves 400 to 450 children in Starke County. The volunteers go to the child’s home and they make sure that the child is happy with what they have. They make sure clothes fit before volunteer leaves.
Not even half of the students will get their request filled until the end of October.
