The Starke County Council members will begin preparations for putting together the 2019 budget when they meet tonight. They will set a date for the 2019 budget workshop. Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler is anticipated to present his proposed 2019 revenue and budget tonight. The addition of a sergeant jailer will be presented as an amendment to the salary ordinance and the council will appoint a member to the Starke County Library Board.
The Starke County Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. CT tonight followed by the Starke County Commissioners meeting.
The commissioners will appoint four members to the Koontz Lake Conservancy Board and entertain a request from Auditor Kay Chaffins for new desks and computers for her staff.
Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Larry Wickert and Linda Lewandowski from the Kid’s Closet organization will present information to both the Starke County Council and Commissioners during their meetings tonight in the meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
