Culver Town Council to Enter into Budget Work Sessions

The Culver Town Council members will enter into budget work sessions next week.

Town Manager Jonathan Leist said he and Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim have been meeting with department heads to discuss potential purchases in 2019 and how their different funds stand at the end of June. Any projects or purchases will be discussed by the council during their budget sessions that are scheduled for Aug. 6 and Aug. 7.

Leist said at this point there aren’t too many surprises expected. The council members may increase the line item for unsafe structures in case of the determination of a court case on a particular structure that could be approved for demolition.

Heim mentioned at the last Culver Town Council meeting that she’d like to have the budget ready by the end of August as the first reading in a public meeting is set for Sept. 25.
