Knox School Board to Consider Adding School Resource Officer

The Knox School Board will consider the addition of a school resource officer tonight. Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart and Starke County Sheriff Bill Dulin have been discussing the idea for the past few months. The goal is to keep students safe in a potential emergency, while also to creating a positive relationship between students and law enforcement.

Also during tonight’s meeting, board members will consider an updated handbook for administrative staff, as well as a contract with the Bowen Center. School officials will ask for the board’s permission to advertise the 2019 budget proposal. A list of several proposed policy revisions will be presented.

Tonight’s Knox School Board meeting starts at 6:30 at the Knox Schools Administrative Office.
