First Ever Merit Foundation ‘Cornerstone Event’ to be Held Tomorrow!

The first of many Cornerstone events hosted by the Merit Foundation is taking place tomorrow!

The Merit Foundation is working to build a community gathering space that they plan to call Cornerstone. Though it may appear to be a simple coffee shop, it will be much more than that. The goal is to build a place where local creativity will be celebrated.

From 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, community members are encouraged to mosey over to downtown Knox where organization representatives will reveal the imagination behind their mission. This is also a chance for the community to explore the space where this inspiring place will be built.

Event organizers say that the day will kick off with two young, up and coming bands that have been taking part in the June Brother Band Program. Things will wrap up with the accomplished musical stylings of “Return to Normal.”

In addition to the musical acts, Tabitha Dillner will have a showcasing of her pieces and young artists from Knox, North Judson and Hamlet will have their work displayed. Clint Worthington will also be painting live. His work will be available through a raffle. All proceeds collected will be going to the Cornerstone construction project.

The Merit Foundation Headquarters and future location of Cornerstone is situated at 19 N Main Street near MBS Fitness in downtown Knox. For more information visit the Cornerstone Revealing Imagination Event Page.
