Medaryville Town Council Disputes Claim

The Medaryville Town Council members denied a claim this month, saying it’s not theirs to pay.

Clerk-Treasurer Judy Harwood said a claim came in from Pulaski Memorial Hospital for services rendered on a patient who was reportedly arrested in an incident. The detainee was treated and released at the hospital and then booked into the Pulaski County Jail, according to Harwood.

The claim for the visit was then billed to the Town of Medaryville in the amount of $1,064. The town council members don’t believe it’s the town’s responsibility to cover that payment. Discussion will continue in a future meeting over the entity responsible for the payment of the medical services.
