Pre-Halloween Compliance Sweep Turns Up Three Non-Compliant Sex Offenders in LaPorte County

With trick-or-treating coming up, police in LaPorte County teamed up Wednesday for a compliance check on the county’s sex offenders. Of the 102 people registered as sexually violent predators or offenders against children, three of them were found to be non-complaint, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say two have been identified as sex offenders and one is a sexually violent predator. They add that arrest warrants are being sought. As part of the compliance check, the sheriff’s office says that all of the offenders were “strongly encouraged not to participate in trick-or-treat.”

“Operation Watchdog,” as the sweep was called, involved several local law enforcement agencies, along with Indiana State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.
