The Knox-Center Township Fire Department firefighters battled an outbuilding fire Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were called to 705 S. Roosevelt Road at 11:45 a.m. According to Fire Chief Kenny Pfost, when they arrived at the scene fire was already through the attic on the south side of the outbuilding. It quickly spread to the north side of the building as crews worked to put out the blaze.
The building was a total loss. The Indiana State Fire Marshal will determine the cause and origin of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The Knox-Center Township Fire Department was assisted by the Hamlet-Davis Township Fire Department, Washington Township Fire Department, Koontz Lake-Oregon Township Fire Department, Starke County EMS, Starke County Sheriff’s Department and the Knox City Police Department.
