Starke County Police Searching for Missing Woman

Bonnie M. Smith

Officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department are attempting to locate a missing woman.

Police say that they were notified that 64-year-old Bonnie M. Smith, of Walkerton, had not shown up to work at Five Star for two days. She was last seen by her daughter on Sunday, Nov. 18 leaving a basketball game at the John Glenn High School in Walkerton, according to a sheriff’s department release.

The release also states that detectives met with her daughter at Smith’s residence where they discovered her computer missing along with jewelry and a white 2010 Dodge Nitro with the Indiana license plate number HZ5603. Police also say Smith’s daughter has been receiving messages from her mother’s phone, but she does not believe it is her mother sending the messages.

The cell phone was reportedly tracked to a Federal Credit Union parking lot on the north side of Lexington, Kentucky. The Lexington Police Department was advised of the situation, but have been unable to locate the vehicle.

Bonnie M. Smith is officially registered as a missing person. Anyone who has any information about her whereabouts or has had any contact with Bonnie M. Smith is urged to call the Starke County Sheriff’s Department immediately at 574-772-3771 ext. 180 or ext. 235.
