The Hamlet Street Department will soon have a new snow removal tool. The town council Wednesday approved the purchase of a snow blower attachment for the town’s Bobcat, from Bobcat of Warsaw.
The new equipment will allow the town to remove snow from the new section of sidewalk on North Starke Street, but council member Brian Earnest and others pointed out that it will also have other uses. “I think it’s definitely a good investment, knowing it’ll be used for even more than just sidewalks,” he said. “I mean, we can use it for hydrants and stuff, to where you were using that bucket before, trying to maneuver as best you can.”
The snow blower attachment will cost the town just over $4,600, once a government discount of almost $1,400 is taken into account.
