Knox Board of Works Informed of Results From Water System Maintenance Assessment

Knox Board of Works members were informed about a recent water system inspection when they met Wednesday morning.

During his report, Interim Water Department Superintendent Tim Voglezang explained that Peerless Midwest was in the area on Tuesday performing their yearly maintenance assessment of all three wells and the city’s two high-service pumps.

He told board members what crews found, “Well three had a little bit of maintenance that needed to be done with a lower bearing and motor and well two has slight wear on a shaft.”

Voglezang said that despite finding those minor problems areas, everything is still fully operational. He said they’ll be working to get maintenance done to fix the issues within the next few months.
