La Porte County Woman Arrested after Reportedly Backing into Police Car

Tylyn Francisco

A rural La Porte County woman was arrested on Saturday evening after she allegedly backed into a La Porte County Sheriff’s Department vehicle.

Police say a deputy responded to a noise complaint in the 2300 W. block of Joliet Road around 10 p.m. CT on Saturday night.  As the deputy parked the squad car in the driveway of the residence, a car driven by 27-year-old Tylyn Francisco was backing up in the direction of the squad car.  The deputy activated the red and blue lights in an attempt to alert the driver, but Francisco continued and struck the front of the squad car, according to the report.

Francisco was transported to the La Porte Hospital for medical clearance and a blood draw, police say.  A release from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department indicates that she was later transported to the La Porte County Jail and booked on three counts of operating while intoxicated.  She has since posted bond and has been released from the jail.

No injuries were reported.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
