NJ-SP Student Helps Build a Custom Motorcycle for Harley-Davidson’s Battle of the Kings

The Knox SCILL Center and Kersting’s Cycle Center teamed up together to build a custom motorcycle for Harley-Davidson’s “Battle of the Kings” event.

The Battle of the Kings is the largest custom bike build competition in the world. The company is seeking fresh ideas and concepts for the future in motorcycles. Those who are looking to purchase used motorcycles and trikes may check out the ones listed at https://www.listedbuy.com/motorcycles/trike.

Harley-Davidson asked Kersting’s Cycle Center staff to compete in the event and chose to customize a 2018 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and name it “Ol Heavy”.  It was then when the Winamac store contacted the Knox SCILL Center staff about the project.

Jonathan Woods, a Senior at North Judson-San Pierre High School, was chosen to help in the process.  The motorcycle was unveiled on Monday, April 15 and can be seen at the dealership during regular business hours Tuesday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.  Kersting’s Cycle Center is located at 8774 W. 700 N. in Winamac.

Residents can show their support and vote for their favorite builds starting April 15 by visiting www.H-D.com/BattleOfTheKings.  A panel of judges will select the ultimate winner from the finalists.
