The Winamac Park Board has finalized the date for this year’s Town Park cleanup day. It will be held Saturday, May 4, beginning at 8:00 a.m. EDT.
One of Park Manager Dave DeLorenzo’s main goals for this year’s event is to plant some trees, to start replacing the ash trees that have been removed in recent years. He told the park board Thursday that he plans to purchase 18 trees of varying types and sizes. He added that the Winamac Tree Committee is also planning to purchase another five trees.
Additionally, DeLorenzo told the park board that he’s working with the town’s Street Department to come up with a plan to remove a large tree that recently fell.
He also reported that Cannonball Productions will once again be bringing its river tubing excursions to the Town Park this summer. The trips will be offered over 13 dates between July 13 and September 1.
