Knox Street Superintendent Alerts BOW of Upcoming Williams Street Railroad Closure

Knox Street Superintendent Jeff Borg informed the Board of Public Works and Safety of an upcoming railroad closure when members met last week.

Borg said he was recently alerted that a local section of the tracks will be closed later this month.

He told members “There’s a subcontractor for Norfolk and Southern, they want to close the Williams’ Street railroad tracks from April 8th through 12th.”

Superintendent Borg said he isn’t sure of the exact work they’ll be doing but he noted that they plan to have the proper signage.

He noted that he doesn’t expect it to cause much of an inconvenience since there’s nothing north of the tracks and everyone should still be able to get in and out of the residential zones.
