Pulaski County EMS to Seek Bids for Ambulance Garage Expansion

Pulaski County Emergency Medical Services continues planning for an addition to its Winamac ambulance garage. The county commissioners agreed Monday to let EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo have the property surveyed and start the bidding process.

He said the survey is needed to make sure the new building is within the property boundaries. “I checked with the recorder and surveyor, and they don’t have anything on file,” he explained.

The garage expansion has been discussed for years, since the county’s ambulances can barely fit in the existing space. The commissioners already gave former EMS Director Bryan Corn permission to start getting quotes back in November.

DeLorenzo also told the commissioners Monday that he’s filled his last full-time opening. “We’re back up to full staff, and Medic 3 started back, as of today.” He said that’s allowed Pulaski County EMS to take transfers from surrounding counties.
