Culver Town Council Approves Sidewalk Replacement Requests

The Culver Town Council members approved six applications for the 50/50 sidewalk program.

Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim explained that the application process began on April 1 and all nine applications were received that day.  The applications are determined on a first-come, first-served basis.  They were all numbered in the order they were received and were considered that way.

Heim informed the council members that one application was removed as it is part of a larger paving project previously approved by the town council.

She said $8,000 was budgeted for the program and that will cover five applications.  If they wanted, the council members could accept an additional project and the extra money could be appropriated from the CCD fund.

The Culver Town Council voted to include the extra project at a total cost of $8,603.  Council member Bill Cleavenger opposed the vote.
