Voter Registration Deadline Approaching for Primary Election

Those who’d like to vote in next month’s primaries but are not registered have less than a week to get that done. The voter registration deadline is Monday, April 8.

Residents have until the close of business that day to register at their county clerk’s office. You can also register with the Indiana Voters app or at until Monday night at midnight. The Indiana Secretary of State’s Office says the app also lets voters confirm their registration and find out who’s on their ballot. To be eligible register to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years of age on the day of the next general, municipal, or special election, among other requirements.

Some of the communities holding primaries next month include Plymouth, Knox, Bremen, Culver, and Bourbon. Residents in the Plymouth school district will also vote on a property tax referendum. There will be no primaries in Pulaski County.

Secretary of State Connie Lawson encourages all Hoosiers to exercise their right to vote, calling it “one of our most precious rights as Americans.”
