A few different events will take place in the downtown area of Knox this evening.
During his report at this week’s meeting, Mayor Dennis Estok mentioned that the Starke County Youth Club has a sculpture unveiling planned for today.
The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. in Serenity Gardens, located on the corner of Lake and Main Streets. SCYC officials say they collaborated with Arts for Learning to have a custom sculpture created by artist Quincy Owens.
The Mayor also mentioned that the city will host their first “Movies in the Park” event of the season tonight.
He said the festivities will kick off around 7:30 with Kalita “The Master of Magic” performing a show on the Wythogan Park Performance Stage.
The movie ‘The Incredibles 2’ will begin showing around 8:30 p.m. There is no admission fee and parking is free. People will need to bring their own blankets and chairs for seating.
If inclement weather strikes, the movie will be moved indoors to the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center.
