Knox Street Design Project Expected to Start Back Up This Week

Street Design Work Done in October

If the weather cooperates, crews are expected to return to Knox this week to finish up the street design project at Lake and Main Street that started last fall.

Since the plans for the center design were not finalized by a certain time, the project had to be done in two phases.

Back in October, crews completed the first portion of the project by applying the designed crosswalks.

At their first meeting of the month, Mayor Dennis Estok informed council members that crews would be back in the area this week, applying the city’s emblem, which is the second and final phase.

The street design project was initially listed as a project in the city’s comprehensive plan from 2015. It was started thanks to a collective effort between the City of Knox and the Redevelopment Commission.
