The City of Knox will host their annual spring clean-up ‘Dumpster Days’ this weekend to give residents a chance to clean up their yards and homes.
Residents can drop items off from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 4th and from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 5th.
The dumpsters from https://sarasotadumpsterrental.com/ will be stationed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in the rear portion of Wythogan Park.
According to Mayor Dennis Estok, this is a good opportunity to get rid of anything that is too large to be picked up on normal trash days.
This event is only open to citizens who live within the city limits only. It is not open to businesses or contractors. Before disposing of anything, individuals will be required to show a valid I.D, listing their Knox residence and a current utility bill.
There are a few items that will not be accepted such as regular trash, tires, grass clippings and yard waste, and electronics. Individuals are not permitted to discard refrigerators or any items that contain Freon, paint of any kind, household hazardous waste or medical waste.
Building and construction materials are also on the list of items that cannot be disposed of during Dumpster Days.
