A night of participating in the Operation Pullover event resulted in a La Porte County Sheriff’s Captain arresting two people after a vehicle and foot pursuit Saturday night.

Captain Andy Hynek successfully stopped a suspect vehicle in the 100 block of Grace Street for two violations when the driver suddenly sped away, according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department.  The police report went on to say that Captain Hynek, who was still in his police car when the suspect fled, engaged in a vehicle pursuit.  It ended at the Crown Food Mart at 1302 E. Michigan Boulevard when police say the driver and the female passenger got out of the car and fled on foot.

The pair were quickly apprehended, according to police.

Victor L. Jordan, 37, was arrested on preliminary felony charges of dealing in cocaine and resisting law enforcement.  Marquita R. Stalberte, 30, was wanted on a probation violation through Superior Court I and was booked on preliminary charges of identity deception and resisting law enforcement.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
