West Central Elementary School’s book rental fees will stay the same for another year. The fees for the 2019-2020 school year were approved during last week’s school board meeting, according to Superintendent Don Street.
At the elementary school, the fees range from just under $98 to almost $129, depending on grade level. At the middle and high school levels, fees are determined by course selection.
In other business last week, the school board approved West Central’s 2019 technology plan and survey. Street says it gives the Indiana Department of Education and update on the corporation’s technology. “West Central School Corporation is a one-to-one district, and we have been now for several years, using Chromebooks third grade through 12th grade; iPads kindergarten, first, and second grade,” Street says. “Our bandwidth is very good. Kris Aschbrenner does an outstanding job as our technology coordinator.”
Street says the school board also passed a resolution allowing the school corporation to dispose of surplus personal property, such as broken desks and chairs.
