The Town of Winamac may soon be expanding its park property. During last week’s park board meeting, member Jon Chapman said a resident is interested in donating some land south of Washington Street, across from the Town Park.
“I think it’s nice of them to offer that because, you know, it’s undeveloped now, but that doesn’t mean there couldn’t have been something negative to affect the view if someone else owned it,” Chapman said.
Board members agreed they’d be willing to accept the potential donation, but would probably leave the site as-is for now. They didn’t take any official action, but discussed having Town Attorney Justin Schramm look into the necessary procedures.
