Autopsy Conducted as Investigation into Fatal House Fire Continues in Pulaski County

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Pulaski County Coroner’s Office and state officials continue to investigate a fatal house fire that occurred at a home in the 5,000 E. block of 250 S. in Kewanna last week. 

Initial information revealed an explosion occurred at the residence in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 13 that resulted in one death. 

According to the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office, an autopsy was conducted on Monday, July 15, but the cause and manner of death remains under investigation pending the results of toxicology tests.  Officials say the identity of the decedent is also pending the results of DNA analysis. 

Additionally, the cause and origin of the incident is pending a final determination by investigators from the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.
