The Eastern Pulaski School Board took action to keep funds flowing in the corporation’s two funds.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Gib Crimmins explained that when the budget was done last year, the school board held discussion concerning taking money from the Rainy Day Fund to go into the two major funds in the budget to make it work. Dr. Crimmins recommended that $500,000 be transferred from the Rainy Day Fund to the Education Fund, retroactive to June 30. The board approved that recommendation.
Additionally, the board members considered a recommendation to transfer money from the Education Fund to the Operations Fund.
As explained by Corporation Treasurer Angie Anspach, when the funds are received by the corporation from the state they are receipted to the Education Fund. By law, a portion of funds is required to be transferred to the Operations Fund. In this particular transfer request, that amount would be $500,000. This recommendation was also approved.
