The Pulaski County Commissioners may appoint a new veterans service officer this morning. They were initially scheduled to make an appointment back in May, but the process was delayed after a district officer from the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs pointed out that there were several requirements that weren’t in the county’s job description.
The appointment was back on the commissioners’ agenda at their last meeting, but they once again decided to hold off, due to the absence of Commissioner Mike McClure.
In other business this morning, the commissioners will discuss an IT contractor. They disbanded the county’s IT department at the beginning of the month. But some county council members raised concerns last week that departments were being directed to use DeGroot Technology for IT needs, without the commissioners having officially selected the company.
Also during this morning’s meeting, EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo will present a quote for an engineer to work on plans for the expansion of the Winamac ambulance garage, and EMA Director Sheri Gaillard will discuss the multi-hazard mitigation plan.
Today’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting starts at 8:30 a.m. EDT in the Pulaski County Highway Garage.
