La Porte Man Arrested in Death Investigation

The brother of a deceased La Porte man was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of murder.

According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department, 37-year-old Gyle R. Delrio of La Porte is being held without bond in the La Porte County Jail in the death of his brother, 41-year-old Paul M. Delrio, of La Porte. 

The incident happened on Monday, Oct. 14 when officers say they were called to a residence in the 200 West block of Johnson Road where they found an unconscious man later identified as Paul M. Delrio.  He was taken to the hospital where he later died.   

Detective Aaron Banic testified in a hearing before La Porte County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Alevizos on Wednesday where probable cause was found to arrest Gyle Delrio on the charges of murder and aggravated battery as a Level 3 Felony. 

The La Porte County Sheriff’s Department and the La Porte County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate this incident. 

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
