NJ Volunteer Fire Department Invites Community to Celebrate 130th Anniversary Today!

The North Judson Volunteer Fire Department has been assisting the community for 130 years and members of the public are invited to come celebrate that milestone with them today.

Fire Chief Joe Leszek issued a reminder about the anniversary celebration during this week’s Town Council meeting.

He explained, “We’ll be doing some demonstrations. We’ll be allowing everybody to go through our equipment and check things out.”

He continued, “With one of our grants we got we purchased almost $3,600 worth of smoke alarms, CO-detectors, and some fire extinguishers so anybody that comes to check things out they’ll be getting a chip and they’ll get one of those items. It’s something that we can do to try to give back to the community and help people.”

Leszek also noted that they’ll have the popcorn machine going and Leg Shaker’s BBQ and R&L Elephant Ears will be stationed in the parking lot selling snacks.

The event will be held from noon until 5 p.m. at the NJ-WT Fire Station, located at 209 North Luken Street.
