Pulaski County Soil and Water Conservation District Receives Award

The Pulaski County Soil and Water Conservation District is a recipient of the 2019 District Showcase Award.

District Support Coordinator Heather Rogers says Indiana’s District Showcase Award is designed to highlight the success of four local Soil and Water Conservation Districts in the state.  It focuses on the opportunity to share new project ideas or better ways to design and implement existing conservation projects.

The LARE project includes bank stabilization, addition of a boat launch, the demolition of a house on the Hilgemeire property along the river now owned by the state park. This section of the park is expected to be open to the public in the summer of 2020.

Rogers and the Pulaski County Soil and Water Conservation District staff invite residents to the District Showcase Field Day on Friday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Tippecanoe River State Park in Winamac.  The Indiana Conservation Partnership will conduct a site visit along with Cardno, Inc., Tippecanoe River State Park partners, grant supporters, and county officials.

Following lunch at noon ET, event goers will go on the lake and river enhancement project site visit.
