The Eastern Pulaski School Board has finalized raises for teachers and school employees. Under the 2019-2020 teacher contract approved Monday, returning teachers rated “effective” or “highly-effective” get a $500 pay raise, plus a $400 stipend.
Board members also approved a two-percent raise for administrators and support staff, except for High School Principal Jeremy Tucker, who just started this school year on a new contract. Interim Superintendent Dr. Gib Crimmins recommended the raises, noting that the last time administrators and support staff got an increase was the 2016-2017 school year.
The school board also approved the distribution of this year’s round of Teacher Appreciation Grants. Highly-effective-rated teachers will get 25 percent more than teachers just rated “effective.” While administrators aren’t eligible for Teacher Appreciation Grants, board members agreed to give the two returning principals stipends for a matching amount, at the recommendation of Dr. Crimmins.
