Starke County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Fatal Shooting

A man was shot to death at a home in Starke County Thursday afternoon, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Officers say that around 2:10 p.m., they got a report that a man was shot in the 2000 block of County Road 500 East.

The caller said the suspect fled the scene but gave police a name and vehicle description. Starke County Police and a Knox Police K9 reportedly found the suspect, who then led officers on a chase for 20 to 30 minutes. Officers say the suspect was finally apprehended near county roads 450 West and 150 South.

Police believe there’s no immediate danger to the public. North Judson Police, Indiana State Police Crime Scene Techs, Starke County EMS, and the Starke County Coroner also assisted.
