Winamac Town Council Approves 2020-2021 EDIT Fund Plan

The Town of Winamac is outlining some of the capital projects it has planned for the next couple years. The town council last week passed an ordinance detailing how Winamac will use its share of the revenues of Pulaski County’s economic development income tax in 2020 and 2021.

Clerk-Treasurer Melanie Berger said $50,000 is being earmarked for infrastructure and engineering costs for any needs that may arise with the town’s sidewalks, roadways, and utilities.

There’s also money set aside for grant administration costs. “I’m thinking when we do the Community Crossings grant every couple years, this is where we can use our engineering fees,” Berger said, “and then we’ve already planned for that because we’re doing Community Crossings every other year, instead of every year, with INDOT.”

The rest of the EDIT funding is planned to be used for the ongoing maintenance of the town’s website. Council members approved a $5,000 agreement with Amber Tomlinson for website work last month.

Overall, the new EDIT plan is similar to the one for 2018-2019.
