Plymouth and Winamac natives are among the newest Indiana State Troopers. Indiana State Police recently held a graduation ceremony for its 79th Recruit Academy. Tyler J. Vermillion of Plymouth will be assigned to the ISP Toll Road District, while Nicholas Isajczuk of Winamac will go to the Lowell District.

This month’s graduation followed 25 weeks of training that covered criminal and traffic law, emergency vehicle operations, firearms, and a number of other subject areas. The 37 graduates took the oath of office and received their State Police badges.

Now, they’ll take part in field training in their assigned districts for the next three months before starting solo patrols.
