A carbon monoxide leak at the Knox Post Office delayed the opening of the facility Friday morning.
Knox-Center Township Fire Chief Kenny Pfost told WKVI News that the fire department was called out for a report of a natural gas leak at the Post Office, but their monitoring equipment showed it was a carbon monoxide leak. NIPSCO was called to the scene along with a mechanical company to look at the furnace unit.
The building was evacuated at the time of the call early this morning with no public entry into the facility for quite some time. As of 8:30 a.m. Friday the building reopened for business.
Officials continue to look into the situation.
