Help Bring the Constellation of Starke Creatives’ Network Offline and Into the Community

Increasing the amount of art in Starke County and expanding opportunities for local creative people were a few areas of focus when executive committee members were working on the Constellation of Starke Regional Development Plan.

Community Foundation Director of Development Jessica Martinović shared one of the ways those ideas manifested last year.

She noted, “We created the Constellation of Starke Creatives’ Network which really just started as a group on Facebook where creatives can join and share their work and help promote one another.”

While the Facebook page will still exist and serve as an online platform for Starke County residents to find out about local creators, Martinović said an idea-sharing workshop is planned for later this month in order help move the group to the next level.

She explained, “Now we’re kind of looking to do a little bit more with that group including maybe doing some seasonal artisan markets and so we want to get local creatives together at this meeting to just brainstorm some of those ideas and see who would like to get involved.”

The event will be held at Grand Central Perk in North Judson at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28th.

There is no restriction on what kind of ‘creative’ you have to be in order to attend. It’s open to painters, writers, photographers, doodlers, musicians and crafters of all kinds as well as any other individuals with eclectic ideas.
