Knox School Board to Get Updates on Building Project, Middle School Cultural Changes

The Knox School Board will get an update tonight on the school corporation’s upcoming building project.

Board members are scheduled to hear presentations from architecture firm Schmidt Associates and construction manager Larson-Danielson. Plans call for the demolition of much of the elementary school’s Palmer Wing, while the current administrative office would be reconfigured into a freestanding building. A new addition would extend south from the newer portion of the elementary school, while the high school would get a couple additions on its north side.

Meanwhile, Knox Middle School administrators will give a presentation tonight on the school’s “cultural changes.” Additionally, the school board will vote on policies related to suspended students, extra pay for teachers of AP classes, and reporting inappropriate behavior by coaches, along with other updates recommended by policy consultant NEOLA. Board members are also expected to accept a $700 Target Field Trip Grant for the Best Buddies program.

Tonight’s Knox School Board meeting starts at 6:30 in the Knox Schools Administrative Office.
