UPDATED: Winamac Middle School Principal Placed on Administrative Leave Due to Misconduct Allegations

The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation has placed another principal on paid administrative leave due to allegations of misconduct.

Winamac Middle School Principal Ryan Dickinson is on administrative leave, as of Friday, according to Eastern Pulaski Superintendent Dara Chezem. In a statement Friday, Chezem said, “The district has launched a thorough internal investigation and is cooperating with law enforcement.”

In a separate press release Friday, Winamac Police said they were contacted by a parent of a high school student, who said their child had been searched by a school administrator in an inappropriate manner during school hours on Wednesday. Three other students were allegedly searched, as well.

Officers say they interviewed the four students with their parents present, and the school superintendent planned to conduct an internal investigation. The Indiana Department of Child Services Institutional Unit is also investigating.

In her press release, Chezem stressed that the situation with Dickinson is completely unrelated to the investigation at the high school, where Principal Jeremy Tucker was placed on administrative leave last month.
