Culver Community Schools Corporation Shares Coronavirus Action Plan

The Culver Community Schools Corporation has announced its coronavirus action plan. The five-level plan outlines responses for various stages of the possible spread of COVID-19.

As cases are confirmed in adjacent counties or within Culver’s athletic conference, the school corporation will prohibit students from sharing equipment, deep clean classrooms and high-touch surfaces every night, and turn off the vending machines. Additionally, teachers will be asked to wipe down all desks and hard surfaces in the middle of each school day. The got this idea from a school campus cleaning in West Chester PA.

Usage of water fountains will be prohibited, and students will be asked to bring water from home instead. Weight rooms and locker rooms will be closed, and events with other schools may be canceled. That’s in addition to a number of other actions that would already be in place.

If COVID-19 cases are confirmed in Marshall, Starke, Pulaski, or Fulton counties, Culver Community Schools may keep students and staff at home and switch to eLearning days. At that point, all after-school activities would be canceled.

Culver Community Schools Superintendent Karen Shuman says the plan may be updated as additional concerns arise.
