Knox Community Center to Close through End of April, City Court Hearings Suspended

The City of Knox has announced a number of measures to try to slow the spread of coronavirus. City Court hearings have been canceled until further notice, and the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center will be closed at least through the end of April.

The Girl Scout Cabin, which had been scheduled to close at the end of April, is no longer available. Anyone who has rented either facility will be contacted and offered a refund or, in the case of the community center, a chance to reschedule.

The Bluegrass Jam scheduled for March 27 has been canceled. The May 7 Prayer Breakfast is still scheduled, but reservations are on hold until further notice.

Those doing business with the City of Knox are encouraged to call or use the city’s website at CityOfKnox.net, rather than visit in person. Utility bills, tickets, and violations can be paid online or at the city’s drop-box.

The city may continue to update its directives as new information becomes available. For more information, call the Mayor’s Office at 574-772-4553, the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office at 574-772-3032, or City Court at 574-772-3766.
