Starke County Prosecutor’s Office Remains Closed to Public, Some Staff to Work Remotely

The Starke County Prosecutor’s Office is once again adjusting its operations in response to COVID-19. Prosecutor Leslie Baker says her office will remain closed to the public until at least April 7.

Limited staff will be on-site Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Others will be working remotely. Prosecutor’s Office staff will be available by telephone and email. Voicemail messages will be returned as quickly as possible.

Any in-person appointments will be rescheduled to a date after April 7. The Prosecutor’s Office will continue to attend any required court appearances but may attend telephonically, if the court allows.

Baker apologizes for any inconvenience, but she says she believes it’s a responsible and proactive response to the spread of COVID-19 to protect her staff and the public while ensuring the continued function of her office.
