Three more patients have died who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state, according to information provided by the Indiana State Department of Health. The number of COVID-19 deaths now totals 35.
Another 273 additional residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the Indiana State Department of Health, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories. Statistics show that 1,786 Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
As of Monday, 11,658 tests have been reported to the Indiana State Department of Health, just over 1,800 from Sunday.
Marion County reported 135 new cases.
Starke County remains at one positive case of COVID-19 while Marshall County remains at three cases, Jasper County has six, Kosciusko County has four, Fulton County has one case, La Porte County has six, Porter County has 15, Lake County has 97, and St. Joseph County has 36. Marion County has the most cases at 804. Pulaski County has yet to record its first case. Pulaski County is one of 13 counties that have not reported a positive case of COVID-19. Statistics from the Indiana State Department of Health indicate that the age group most affected from COVID-19 is 60-69.
Forty percent of deaths occur in people ages 80 and older, about 28 percent of deaths occur in people ages 70-79, 17 percent of deaths occur in people ages 60-69, and 11 percent of deaths occur in people ages 50-59. The rate is higher in men than it is in women, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.
